Peanuts

We began growing peanuts at Greensill Farming in 2020 as part of our crop rotation program.

Peanuts are an excellent rotation crop because of the soil conditioning properties they offer and also fits the irrigation system and soil types that we grow in at our Wallaville farms.

From planting to harvesting, the growing cycle of takes approximately four to five months.  Interestingly, many people are not aware that peanuts are actually a legume and grow beneath the soil – unlike most other nut varieties that grow on trees.

Once harvested, our peanuts go to Bega and other processors to be made into a variety of products available in supermarkets and retail stores across Australia.

Our partnerships allow us to grow peanuts with confidence and plan for producing larger yields each year going forward.
